I have noticed fish in your area has darker fins or tails is this normal with white crappie, here where I live mostly only black crappie that does not have the darker color fins or tail unless it’s spawning time.😊

One thing you forgot to mention is Helm and recording is only available on the Garmin GPSmap units and is NOT available if you have an Echomap. Beware.

I've fished most of my 65 years but never really targeted crappie. Recently retired, I stumbled upon a local crappie fishery that locals don't seem interested in. My first time out targeting them, I put a dozen slabs in the box within an hour. After tasting my first crappie, I now understand their popularity. Got my first real big one Saturday mid-day on a hair jig I tied, probably 14-15" and a couple pounds. Now I'm completely obsessed😊

What braid do u recommend for dock shooting with livescope. I shoot 40ft plus long docks an wanta see bait. Occasionally I hook a big blue cat an with 4lb mono. They pull drag an get wrapped up on structure. Looking for more strength an same distance as mono shooting

Are you still using this unit? Also wouldn’t the 12” 8612 have a better picture since it’s smaller with the same pixelation of the 8616 at 1920 x 1080 meaning the 16” is more stretched out

The thing is you are no longer using Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. You have changed battery chemistry to the batteries that do tend to have run away reactions causing fires. LiFePO4 batteries are significantly more stable and can deliver days of performance as well. Amped Outdoors makes terrific LiFePO4 batteries as well.

I leave in lower Alabama and our water is always high in the spring
